<<A Group of ROI members and friends went to Looe for a painting weekend, the first of many such Events we hope. New text box >>

The Following will be random comments and news items about recent work and events etc

After a busy run up to Christmas with the ROI Show I have turned my attention to portraits with an exciting line up of sitters arranged for the winter months. The latest is Bath based musician Vonj, see portrait section. Our ROI painting days are very enjoyable, there's something extra stimulating about woiorking alongside other artists, a shared sense of the joy of painting for its own sense, not for any other purpose than painting itself.

I had an interesting week painting two very different characters for the Exmoor Show.

Author Dame Margaret Drabble at her house in Porlock and Mr Terry Green of retailing renown at Upton near Wiveliscombe.

With the show fast approaching I have been busy working on the frames which I like to decorate myself using Gesso and Gold Leaf. Time consuming but rewarding as I regard the frame as part of the creative process.

The Great Dorset Steam Fair, I have been painting scenes from our annual week at the fair. A mix of painting, exhibiting our vintage vehicles and rumaging in the jumble of stalls selling everything you could think of.
